Philanthropy Context

SolCon Foundation is place-based philanthropy targeting East London to make a transformative impact. The foundation is able to leverage the prevailing networks and deep insights into the locale leading to community-anchored systems change. Given the complexity of poverty, the foundation chose a laser focus approach to human capital development.  The long history in the community builds an atmosphere of trust and buy-in from the community.

The Foundation is a beacon of hope to the thousands of people living in the neglected community of Duncan Village, where people still live in squander without basic services, living under abhorrent conditions.

Focusing on development, the Foundation through its programmes; iSteam, Cortex Hub and early childhood development centre Laugh and Learn aims to educate and mentor young children and youths from the township to be innovators, entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
